1. Purpose of the tool

The Lattice Beam is a specialized tool designed for scaffold modeling, offering several key functionalities:

  • Purpose and Benefits: The Lattice Beam Tool allows users to create and modify lattice beams efficiently, which are essential for providing structural support in scaffolding systems. It enhances the flexibility and accuracy of scaffold designs.
  • Insertion and Modification: Users can easily insert lattice beams into their models, with options for automatic and manual measurements and the inclusion of couplers at supporting ends. The tool also allows for modifications, such as adjusting the height and length of the beams.

2. User Interface overview.

The tool is located on the ScaffPlan Toolbar

To open the tool menu please double click on the tool.
The tool contains following features:

The lattice beam parameters include various options and functionalities that can be adjusted during the insertion and modification process, the process requires the user to pick two supporting standards or tubes and then confirm with ENTER and then position along the item at the require elevation of the top chord

  1. Height: The height of the lattice beam can be specified during the insertion process between 0.45m and 0.75m
  2. Length: Users have the option to use automatic measurements or input manual measurements for the lattice beam, manually overrides increase in 1.0m increments from 2.0m  8.0m
  3. Create Connection: automatically creates a double coupler at the connection with the standard or tube
  4. Flip: The location of the lattice beam can be flipped to the opposite side of the standard or tube to prevent clashing with other scaffold items such as outer bracing

This can also be edited by using the ScaffPlan contextual toolbar.

FUNCTIONALITY

To save a current tool setting it is required to type name of the setting into the box and click Save button. To load previously saved settings please click on the box to drop down a list of setting s available then choose a desired setting. Once the setting clicked from the drop-down it will be automatically loaded, and dialogue boxes updated to values saved under the setting.

Opens ScaffPlan knowledge base articles on the tool usage

Prompts to create lattice beam by picking at least 2 verticals (tubes or standards).

Saves values set in the dialogue boxes without closing the dialog box. ScaffPlan uses these properties the next time you create an object of this type.

Modifies the selected lattice beam using the current properties of the dialog box such Type, Subtype, Name etc. as set in the tool.

Gets properties from the selected lattice beam  and fills the menu with the values of the selected lattice beam. If several lattice beam are being selected, ScaffPlan takes the values from the first one selected and updates the dialogue boxes.

Switches all check boxes in the dialog box on and off.

Used when all boxes need to be unticked then some only need to be ticked (taken into effect) once the Modify button is pressed after.

Closes the tool menu without saving the properties or modifying objects.
