1. Purpose of the tool.

The Temporary Roof tool automates the modeling process of temporary roof structures, providing a streamlined solution for scaffolding projects. Key features include:

  • One-Click Solution: The tool allows users to model the entire roof system in one go using predefined parameters such as width, nominal width, support type, number of roof frames, bracing configurations (light, medium, and heavy duty), cover type, and roof rotation.

2. User Interface overview.

The tool is located under the Scaffold Modelling tab.

To open the tool menu please double click on the tool.
The tool contains following features:

General parameters Tab users can automate the modelling process of temporary roof structures using predefined parameters to quickly setup different roofing arrangements and sizes.

  • Roof Type: at present this parameter is limited to a Gable also known as symmetrical Duo-Pitched roof shape
  • Width: This value utilises the Nominal Width parameter and then chooses the closest match from a set value controlled by the manufacturers parts.  For the Keder Roof XL this ranges from 5.88m in increments up to 32.51m.
  • Nominal width: This value is a rough guide for the roof with which is then used to accurately layout the roofing system inline with the manufacturers parts and sizes.
  • Span: the value specified is a reporting parameter only based on the Width parameters
  • Number of frames: this parameter influences the overall length of the roofing system and again is controlled by the manufacturers content and sizing
  • Length : the value specified is a reporting parameter only based on the Number of frames parameters
  • Rotation: The rotation can be set to specific angles, allowing you to achieve the desired orientation for your roof structure this s particularly useful for ensuring that the roof aligns correctly with the overall scaffold design.
  • Bracing configuration: users can choose from various bracing configurations to enhance the stability and safety of the roof structure. The available options include, Light Duty Bracing, Medium Duty Bracing and Heavy Duty Bracing where on selection elements with be automatically applied into the roof system inline with the manufacturers recommendation and guidance.

FUNCTIONALITY

To save a current tool setting it is required to type name of the setting into the box and click Save button. To load previously saved settings please click on the box to drop down a list of setting s available then choose a desired setting. Once the setting clicked from the drop-down it will be automatically loaded, and dialogue boxes updated to values saved under the setting.

Opens ScaffPlan knowledge base articles on the tool usage.

Prompts to create a temporary roof scaffold by clicking top standard end point where the roof will be connected to.

Saves values set in the dialogue boxes without closing the dialog box. ScaffPlan uses these properties the next time you create an object of this type.

Modifies the selected temporary roof using the current properties of the dialog box such Type, Subtype, Name etc. as set in the tool.

Gets properties from the selected a roof in the model and fills the menu with the values of the selected roof tool. If several roof tools are being selected, ScaffPlan takes the values from the first one selected and updates the dialogue boxes.

Switches all check boxes in the dialog box on and off.

Used when all boxes need to be unticked then some only need to be ticked (taken into effect) once the Modify button is pressed after.

Closes the tool menu without saving the properties or modifying objects.
