1. Purpose of the options.
The tool is located under the HELP tab on the ribbon:
From ScaffPlan 1.7 it is possible to set following options in the Advanced options tool as below.
When an option changed in the tool, press OK to take it into effect.
2. Show/hide update decimals window and Update decimals options.
The options allows to specify whether to display update decimal accuracy window on a scaffold system change in the Project information tool.
To set the option change a value to Yes/No and press OK button in the tool menu.
When the option set to Yes (default) the update decimals window will be displayed and it will allow to change decimal accuracy as recommended for a scaffold system. And the Update decimals is hidden.
When the option set to No the update decimals window will be hidden and decimal accuracy will not be allowed to change for a scaffold system and decimals stay as was set previously in the other scaffold system.
The No - No options are set as on the example below:
3. Show version compatibility window.
The options allows to specify whether to display version compatibility window or not when a user trying to open a model created in a previous version of ScaffPlan .
To set the option change the option to Yes/No and press OK button in the tool menu.
When the option set to Yes (default) the display version compatibility window will be displayed allowing to save a model backup if Yes chosen in the window.
When the option set to No the display version compatibility window will NOT be be displayed and model backup will not be possible to create.
4. Show warning window on copy/move objects.
The options allows to specify whether to display a warning window or not when a user trying to manipulate with native Tekla objects with the part selector ON (NOT RECOMMENDED BY SCAFFPLAN) instead of manipulating with ScaffPlan component where the native Tekla object is located under.
To set the option change the option to Yes/No and press OK button in the tool menu.
When the option set to Yes (default) the warning window will be displayed warning a user on the non recommended manipulation of the object.
When the option set to No the warning window will NOT be be displayed.
4. Show warning window on native Tekla objects manipulation embedded into ScaffPlan tools.
The options allows to specify whether to display a warning window or not when a user trying to manipulate with native Tekla objects with the part selector ON (NOT RECOMMENDED BY SCAFFPLAN) instead of manipulating with ScaffPlan component where the native Tekla object is located under.
To set the option change the option to Yes/No and press OK button in the tool menu.
When the option set to Yes (default) the warning window will be displayed warning a user on the non recommended manipulation of the object.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO KEEP IT SET ALWAYS TO YES.
When the option set to No the warning window will NOT be be displayed.
5. Default timber sole board size.
The options allows to specify default timber sole board size used in ScaffPlan tools such:
- Creation of base plates from tubes, standards
- Creation of bays by the Bay, Buttress bay, Corners, Wall trace, Bird cage, Tank tools.
The option currently has 2 timber board sizes available to set as default:
- 38x225x450mm
- 50x220x500mm
To set the option pick the sole board size and press OK button in the tool menu.
6. Default timber plank size.
The options allows to set default timber plank size used in ScaffPlan tools such:
- Creation of planks from tubes, transoms, ledgers etc.
The option currently has 2 timber plank sizes available to set as default:
- 38x225mm
- 32x200mm
To set the option pick a timber plank size from the drop down and press OK button in the tool menu.
7. Custom smart copy modular distance.
The options allows to set default smart copy (copy with Alt keyboard key) modular distance for the Scaffold Item and Tube and Clip tools.
Default value is set to 1.2m to distribute planks bearing transoms with the smart copy command for Tube and Clip users.
The Minimum allowed value is 0.01m and maximum one is 10m.
To set the option type a numerical value in the box and press OK button in the tool menu.
Use case for Tube and Fitting users as set by default to 1.2m:
In the Scaffold Item tool the distance for the smart copy might be enabled by using the Custom modular distance from the contextual toolbar:
8. Default tube length.
The options allows to set default tube length used when:
- extending a tube by length
- inserting legs
- changing joiner locations
To set the option pick a tube length available in the drop down (custom tube lengths created by a user will be also exposed here) then press OK button in the tool menu.
9. ScaffBlock storage location.
The options allows to set default storage location for ScaffBlocks created in the model.
Two storage options are available for flexibility:
- Model and Firm (default) - created ScaffBlock files are stored in the Model folder under location model_name\ScaffPlan\ScaffBlocks subfolder AND in the Firm folder under location C:\ScaffPlanFirm\ScaffBlocks . Scaffblocks located in the Firm distributes all created ScaffBlocks over the system and makes them available in any other model creted/opened.
- Model - created ScaffBlock files are stored in the Model folder ONLY under location model_name\ScaffPlan\ScaffBlocks subfolder. It makes ScaffBlocks the ONLY model specific.
To set the option pick one of the options in the drop down then press OK button in the tool menu.
10. Object preview color.
The options allows to set preview color of objects in ScaffPlan tools whenever the preview is available.
To set the option pick one of the colors in the color palette then press OK button in the tool menu.
