Introduction
This article explains how to copy a scaffold bay from End 1 to End 2 in SketchUp using ScaffPlan, while preventing duplicate standards at the target end. It also covers using snapping points, labels, and array copies for rapid layout.
Steps for Copying Bay by Number of Copies from End to End

Prepare the view and snapping - for copying by using snapping points:
- for clarity on the ScaffPlan Toolbar, click Toggle Labels Visibility to display component labels (End 1/End 2).

Prepare the view and snapping - for copying by using base plates:
- In SketchUp, enable X-Ray: View → Face Style → X-Ray (or use Styles toolbar).
- On the ScaffPlan Toolbar, click Toggle Labels Visibility to display component labels (End 1/End 2).

Open the Scaffold Bay Tool
- On the ScaffPlan Toolbar, click Scaffold Bay to open the Scaffold Bay Tool dialog.

Prevent duplicates at End 2 before copying
- In the Scaffold Bay Tool dialog, go to Bay Ends.
- Set End 2 to No standards.
- Click Modify to apply the change to the currently selected bay.

Copy the bay from End 1 to End 2
- On the ScaffPlan Toolbar, click Display Snapping Points to show bay snapping points.
- Select the bay in the model.
- Press M to activate Move.
- Press Ctrl to toggle Copy.
- Snap the start point at an End 1 snapping point (or from a baseplate at End 1), then snap the destination point at the corresponding End 2 snapping point on the run (or to the baseplate at End 2).
- Click to place the copy.

Create multiple sequential copies (optional)
- Immediately after placing the first copy, type xN (e.g., x5) and press Enter to create N additional copies at the same spacing.

Update the Bay Tool to match the last placed bay
- Select the last bay created.
- In the Scaffold Bay Tool dialog, click Get to load that bay’s parameters into the dialog.

Set End 2 type on the copied bay(s)
- In Bay Ends, change End 2 from No standards to the required type (Open or Closed).
- Click Modify to apply.
- Hide Snapping points and bay labels.
- Select bays and toggle off labels and snapping points using ScaffPlan Toolbar.
