Frame and Brace: Modifications

Modifications using the Tool Menu

To modify one bay follow the sequence below:

  1. Double click on a bay to open the tool menu if was closed.
  2. If the tool menu opened it's is important to press Get to update the tool menu values to the currently selected bay then perform modifications.
  3. Configure the required bay settings using the available menu options.
  4. Click Modify to take the changes into effect.

To modify multiple bays follow the sequence below:

  1. Select a first bay then select other bays in the line by holding down Control.
  2. Press Alt+Enter to open the tool menu if was closed.
  3. Deselect all settings by using the empty tick box as it will allow to affect only chosen settings for multiple bays: 
  1. Configure the required bay settings using the available menu options.
  2. Click Modify to take the changes into effect for all bays selected.
 

Modifications and Copy commands using Contextual toolbar

The Contextual Toolbar provides quick access to the most commonly used Frame and Brace settings directly and provides extra functionality for a bay adjustments.

To display the Contextual Toolbar  select a bay then hover over the 3D cube to open the toolbar. Pin it to a location on your screen and maximise it to keep it opened all the time a bay selected.

  • Frame Type - allows to change the fame type using the drop down.
  • Length - changes the bay length
  • Length - changes the bay width
  • Height - set the top working platform height of a bay
  • Offset - changes offset of the bay from the wall. Change the value by typing it in the offset box then press Enter to take it into effect.
  • End1 and End2 options  - allow to set the bay end to be Opened or with no frames.
  • Bracing - enables and disables bracing creation. Works together with Brace At option as the option defines a side of the bay the bracing will be created at - Inner or Outer sides.
  • Console Bracket - enables and disables console bracket creation. Works together with Inner to define a console bracket type on the inner side.
  • Copy - copies a bay to left or right (set in the Position - End1 to the left and End2 to the right) by number of copies typed in the Copy box. To execute the command: 

1. Set a direction of copying - in the Position to End1 to the left or End2 to the right. 

2. Type amount of bays to be copied in the copy box.

3. Press Enter to execute the copy command.

  • Position - sets direction of the copy command -  End1 to the left or End2 to the right. And sets of direction of the bay length change. 
  • Handles - contains 2 commands Swap handles and Mirror handles. This commands are useful when bay ends need to be swapped (mirror the bay face around it's centerline). Or a bay needs to be Mirrored around it's reference line - the wall line.
  • Merge bays  - allows to merge 2 separate bays to each other removing double up of frames at the ends.
  • Add/Remove Frames - shows/hides bay end controls for adding/removing frames at the bay ends using the + sign.
  • Select Scaffold Item - allows to select a component inside of a bay for modification of the bay on the component level. Select components and press middle mouse button to execute the command.
  • Display snapping points - shows snapping point on components, selected in the bay. Pick components inside of a bay then press Middle mouse button to display snapping points. Right click in the view and Redraw the view to hide snapping points.
