Design Without Laps Using the Bay Tool

1. Open the Bay Tool and set required bay configuration. For easier modelling, use X-Ray mode and make sure the ScaffPlan toolbar is visible.
2. Create the main bay run and enable the required console brackets before placing the bays.
3. Adjust individual bay lengths using Get to load the selected bay settings. Use Neighbor Bay Adjustments to keep connected bays aligned when changing bay lengths.
4. Close bay ends and remove unnecessary console brackets where additional bay runs will connect. Double-click a bay to edit or delete individual components.
5. Create the additional bay runs. When modifying several bays at once, untick all options first and enable only the property you want to change, such as Console Brackets.
6. Before joining the runs, remove duplicate standards from the connecting ends.
7. Enable Snapping Points, select the bay run, and use SketchUp's Move tool (M) to snap the new run to the required rosette or connection point.
8. Repeat the process for the remaining side: adjust bay lengths, clean up brackets and standards, then use Snapping Points to join the runs.

Tip: Use Labels to identify End 1 and End 2 when modifying bay ends. Snapping Points, Labels, and the Bay Tool work together to make complex connected layouts easier to build.
